This month we have a larger collection than usual because I wanted it to be a fair reflection of the variety of recent posts in the Art Gallery Forum of TalkGraphics.  We hope it will inspire you to add your own work in the coming months, new members are always very welcome!

José Campoy

José is professional designer in Mexico and we love his new company identity, created with Designer Pro. We only have room here for the header illustration from his website, so you’ll have to take our word for it that the cow theme is carried across all the assets in a wonderful way - to the point that if you place an order with José your project will be delivered on a USB stick packed in a small milk bottle! You can see more of Jose’s work in the Xara Art Gallery.

Mark Beckemeyer (Buckobeck on TalkGraphics)

Insects might not be everyone’s favorite wildlife but Mark’s Big World, Small Things thread has proved very popular on TalkGraphics, with almost 7000 views so far.  This is the most recent illustration in the thread, a bush cricket basking in the glow of the setting sun, but don’t miss the rest of the thread.

Andrew Wrigley

OK, this isn’t recent, but one great insect illustration puts us in mind of another - and we couldn’t miss the opportunity to show this photo-realistic vector illustration of a dragonfly by Andrew Wrigley, posted in this thread (along with the wireframe) back in August 2014.

Graham Ward (Gray on TalkGraphics)

From the master of plane art, a Martin Baker MB2, posted in this thread. We don’t know how long this particular image took to create,  but in another recent thread (Gloster Aircraft Company) Graham remarked that the Gloster illustration had been a ‘quickie’ at just 12 hours, where others had taken 50 - 60 hours! You can see more of Graham’s work in the in the Xara Art Gallery.

Peter Windmill

Those of you that saw Peter’s previous post in Inspirational Art (October 2015, you can select it from the drop down menu at the top of this page) will appreciate that he has understood that a relatively simple technique can produce a powerful image. In this instance “stone textures included with Xara (with a lot of transparency), above a flat fill. Then a gradient shadow.”  It’s easier said than done of course, you can see the post in this thread.

Frances Proctor (Angelize on TalkGraphics)

We love to see someone making good use of the extrude tool, and regulars on TalkGraphics will know that Angelize is also a fan of the new Art Brush feature of v11.  Here she makes great use of both in this joyful Spring is Arriving image in this thread.  That’s it for this month. If you have enjoyed these images then all Likes, Shares, +1s, re-tweets etc are most welcome!
