Inspirational Art returns with another new name. Sylvain Cerf is an amateur graphic artist who lives and works in Chartres, France. He uses both Photo & Graphic Designer and
Xara 3D to create his distinctive images, and is more than modest about his achievements: “I gradually hope to improve my images and to deserve one day the name of graphic
artist, and this by means of your software in particular”.
These first two images are called Indien Coiffe (Indian Headress) and Mère et Enfant (Mother & Child). Sylvain credits the influence of the stained glass windows and
architecture of Chartres’ mighty cathedral for his taste for artwork on a black background and geometric designs.
In this second set of images Sylvain imagined some book covers for popular titles from the 1950s. He was inspired by his old pocket books, in particular those illustrated by
Pierre Faucheux. You can see more of these in Sylvain’s Behance portfolio.
Les Racine du Ciel (the Roots of Heaven) is a story about Africa, its people, and the massacre of elephants. Fahrenheit 451 is a dystopian novel set in a future world where
books are outlawed and burnt whenever they are found.
That’s it for this month. If you have enjoyed these images then all Likes, Shares, +1s, re-tweets etc are most welcome!
