The illustrations below are just a small selection of his vector work, created with Xara Photo & Graphic Designer, which we’ve picked from his gallery on Deviant Art.  Maxim also uses Xara to draw interface elements, icons  and other UI imagery plus textures for various real time 3D demos and applications, some examples of which you can see in his Gallery. The first image is inspired by the Perlan Project, as Maxim explains “a stratosphere glider which should soar in polar vortexes without engine at an altitude of roughly of 27.5 Km, almost three times higher than modern airliners fly! My illustration depicts a time when such soaring will be available for sport pilots to master and compete”.  This is a pure vector work, and you can see it in outline mode here. Fisherman and His Sons is another purely vector work. “In both of these pictures all the "visual effects’, like sun-flares, bloom or fog are drawn as objects in Xara with various transparency gradients and feather settings.” Maxim has another category of illustrations in which he has drawn the outline with pen (the first one) or pencil, (the last two, consequently with softer outlines) scanned it and added color, shading and textures in Photo & Graphic Designer, including the water and clouds of the background. You can see more of his pencil drawings in his Deviant Art Portfolio. This is the Italian SM-79 Sparviero. An imaginary war scenario Hunting Black Shark. And finally MiG-23 Morning Patrol.
